Day 15: Penrith – Annan
Clear ride out on a beautiful day on flat roads. Chance meeting with a fellow cyclist from NZ who had been on the road for 3 years. No helmet and sandals for him whilst we were all dressed up in protective gear!
Met up with Cath in Carlisle and toasted her return with coffee and scones in Adeline’s cafe.
Onwards and over the border into Scotland. Getting close to home!
Tea stop at Devils Porridge ☕️☕️ museum and overnight in Annan guesthouse.
Day 16: Annan – Abington
Big skies, high winds and flat tyres punctuated the day but the group held together with tape on Janis’s tyre and good humour.
Gradually made our way to our overnight accommodation at the luxurious Days Inn service station. Supper was a takeaway panini and a bottle of wine! 🍷🍷
