Day 7: Bristol to Gloucester
Goodbye Chris (for now)! Chris has been a fantastic support to the group – now we are definitely on our own!
Very tricky getting out of Bristol city center in rush hour. Lots of hills, lots of traffic but lots of patient road users as we navigated which lane we needed to be in. Concentration levels were high! Coffee stop to calm the nerves in a side alley to a village store. Heavens opened so ended up sheltering in their store room.
River Severn is very impressive. Followed the canal for miles into center of Gloucester. Again concentration levels needed to be high or a soaking was likely! Fascinating to see the regeneration that had taken place.
Beautiful Cathedral!!

Beautiful countryside with picture postcard villages and houses. Travelled the canals to work our way into Worcester, the home of the sauce and the site of the last battle of the English revolution.Stayed in St. Andrews Hotel and feasted on a bargain oldies dinner at Β£4.99! Washed bikes with a conveyor belt arrangement with everyone having a key role.
